Today, I’m drinking berry detox. It has: ginger, fennel, hibiscus, burdock, strawberry, dandelion, orange peel, honey bush, açaí, yellow dock, raspberry, and pomegranate. Wow, that’s a lot! It’s fruity and delicious. Totally helps de-bloating.

I don’t care what people think, and I don’t worry about being judged. I know that everyone lives in their little boxes, and it’s hard for most people to comprehend a world outside of their own little box.

I am confident in the fact that I know myself better than anyone else. And I know that I am a full-grown adult, have been one for eight years now, and have the right to make my own choices.

I made it through school, moved out for college when I was seventeen-years old, lived in a house for several months when I was eighteen and nineteen, lived on campus, lived in my first apartment when I was twenty-one. I pay my bills, have been on my own insurance since I was twenty-two. Now I’m not saying you have to move out or pay bills by a certain age, I’m just saying that this alone should be proof enough that I am a fully functioning adult.

Now, adults have the right to make choices and to follow their bliss. Of course I can’t make illegal, immoral, or irresponsible choices — and I don’t. Most importantly I would never make choices that put others in danger. And that’s that, and that’s really all that matters. As long as you are not being malicious, your choices are really no one else’s business and nothing to be judged about.

If I am happy, then others should be happy for me. Life should not be about pleasing others — first off, it’s impossible to please everyone, and secondly, what people want for you is not always what is best for you. People don’t like to have their illusions shattered or realize that there is more to life than their limited perception.

The reason why people are so quick to judge is because they are so insecure about their own choices they’ve made in life. When you witness someone doing something you wish you were brave enough to do, you can either be inspired or you can let your insecurities take over and try to tare them down by judging them. If you see someone doing something differently, then it might make you feel bad and question decisions you made when you were worried what people would think. But really, it should inspire you to realize that it’s never too late to walk down another path, for as long as you’re alive.

  2. Whew, it would be exhausting trying to please everyone! 😩 You’d have to be a master shapeshifter just to please everyone who was currently in front of you. Honest expression can be frightening at times, but in the end it’s more energizing. 😊
