Prologue:

Welcome back to the wondrous world of mermaids and mermen! This is the official sequel to “The Captain & the Mermaid: A Mystical Conquest.” If you haven’t read the first book, or perhaps you’ve read it a long time ago and can’t remember how it goes, fear not! For any missing parts, the narrator (myself) will fill you in on the details with little recaps and reminders.

We are beginning this story exactly where we left off. Fuchsia (pronounced “Fyoo-sha”) – you remember her, right? She’s the starring role, the pink-haired mermaid. And then there’s the Captain, who’s true name is Cole (this was revealed at the end of Book 1.) So, there’s Fuchsia and Cole. Are you still with me? Do you remember what else was mentioned at the end of Book 1?

When we first meet the Captain, in Book 1, it seems that he’s human – just another sailor. As the book goes on, it’s revealed that Cole is actually a merman, escaping his past by shape-shifting as a human. In fact, for most of the story, Cole’s identity is very blurry and mysterious, as we do not even know his true name until the very end. And what slips out just as the Captain and the Mermaid are getting married, is that Cole actually had a previous romance – that led to children. Oh, goodness! This may surely open a can of worms…

The first book ended with Fuchsia and Cole taking on the mystical powers as the New Mother Mermaid and New Father Merman. It had become their destiny to heal the ocean – and maybe someday heal the entire world. But it would be necessary for them to conserve their powers: by spending most of their time deep in their cave, and harnessing the magical abilities of crystals.

And most important of all, the book ends with Fuchsia becoming pregnant – which leads us to a brand-new chapter…
