Autumn 2025 recap

This is a recap of all of the stuff I did this past fall!

Lil Dub

At the autumn equinox, Kevin and I went to Lil Dub Festival. So, we used to go to Big Dub every summer, but it had been several years since we’d been back. Lil Dub is a much smaller scale version of Big Dub, which is an EDM music camping festival. I had been wanting to go back again, but the timing wasn’t working out, so this was our first time at Lil Dub.

It was still a pretty big festival, just small in comparison to Big Dub – there was one camp site open instead of three, and there was one stage open instead of four. There was still so much excitement. I kind of appreciated a slightly smaller crowd. Although it’d been many years since we’d been here, it felt just like home again, as I instantly recognized it all.

The setlist was very, very underground; my favorite was ALWZ SNNY. Lil Dub is also just for the weekend instead of an entire week. We’ve done entire weeks in the past, but for this, we just did one night. We found a place to set up camp and then did some exploring. In the evening, of course it started down pouring, yet we managed to somehow make dinner in the rain. Luckily it eventually stopped and we were able to enjoy the rest of the night at the festival!

Poppy

I went out for drinks with my friends, Sally and Kat, and finally got to meet Sally’s dog named Poppy. It was that really great weather when it’s finally cooling down after summer, but it’s still nice and warm. Poppy was so adorable!

Ladies weekend

In October, I had a ladies weekend with my sister, cousin, and aunt. We did lots of fall festivities. We went to a pumpkin patch, a cafe with pumpkin lattes, a craft store, a brewery, and an old-fashioned movie theater. It was lots of fun and a great way to get into the halloween spirit.

Vampire paranormal museum

My dad came to visit and we were planning on going to the Ren Faire, which ended up being sold out. Instead, there was this Vampire & Paranormal museum that I had been wanting to see for a while, so we checked it out. It went beyond my expectations and we were there for a couple of hours.

As you can see, I ended up taking so many photos; there was so much to see. The whole lot has tons of antiques sitting outside (and they are on sale!) – everything from yard furniture to ancient-looking statues. There is even an entire area dedicated to dinosaur statues, called the dinosaur park. There were some farm animals too, even this beautiful peacock that was roaming around. And this is all before you even get to the museum.

The first part of the museum is dedicated to vampire artifacts, like swords and knives built to hunt vampires, and books and journals with notes on them. Hundred and hundreds of years ago, there was a strong belief in the existence vampires.

After that, there’s a lot of stuff regarding the devil, skeletons, ghosts, and entities. The further you go in, the creepier it feels. Some things, you can’t stare at for too long, especially if they have eyes. My favorite part was an area dedicated to psychics, crystal balls, tarot cards, and ouija boards. There’s a closet area with a big warning sign filled with tons of spooky items – I did not take a photo of this!

The very end of the museum is on a much lighter note. The final room is full of angels, figures including Archangel Michael, Mother Mary, and Joan of Arc. It feels very cleansing after having gone through everything else.

Visit with dad

My dad stayed out for the weekend, so after the museum, we did some other things too. We went to High Rocks and did a pretty strenuous hike! We went into Doylestown for some lunch. And later on, we went to a steakhouse for dinner, and while I don’t eat meat, I had a tasty salad. The following morning, we went to a local diner. It was a busy weekend!

Halloween party

On Halloween, I went to my cousin’s halloween party. It was a great time! I dressed as Rapunzel. My cuz, Priscilla, dressed as a tamagotchi – so creative! There were so many different interesting costumes!

Birthday!

On November 14th, I turned 31-years old! I wrote a birthday post here!

To celebrate, I went with Kevin to a farm sanctuary for a private session of baby goat cuddling, followed by going to a wine tasting. This is sort of becoming as a tradition, since we did this last year (but with the sheep!) Next year, I’d love to see the baby cows! For the wine tasting, we each had a flight of 4 glasses (I did the autumn flavors.)

Elf party

My cousin hosted Thanksgiving this year, which was great! The next day, a few of us went to see the Wicked sequel in theaters. We had seen the first one last year, so it was cool to wrap it up. The seats were heated, reclined, amazing… and the popcorn was delicious!

That Saturday, my other cousins hosted their yearly Elf party. This was their tenth year, and I’ve been going for the last three. There’s games, trivia, prizes, food, drinks, music (live performance from aunt Nancy & uncle David on piano and flute!), and it ends with a viewing of the movie Elf, of course! It’s a fun way to begin welcoming in the Christmas energy.

Yuletide festival

In early December, Kevin and I went to the Yuletide festival at the Ren Faire. It’s pretty much the same as the Ren Faire, but slightly smaller scale, and holiday vibes. I wore many layers, topped with a cloak, but it wasn’t as cold as I was expecting. There’s also a lot of heaters around and places to stay warm. So, my temperature was great.

I had honey mead and a whiskey hot apple cider. The drinks were amazing! We did a lot of walking, just seeing and looking at everything. As an early Christmas present, I bought Kevin a sword that was on sale. It was at this really cool viking area. We also had some tasty cinnamon bread.

I had a mini-heart attack because I lost my wallet. I usually never lose things, but it must’ve fell out of out my fanny pack somehow. We spent like 5-10 minutes looking for it until I went to the lost-and-found area and someone had turned it in. That would’ve been SO annoying if I’d lost it! THANK YOU so much to whoever turned this in! I hope you get all of the good karma!

Kitties

My cats, Luna and Venus, are doing well. They had their annual vet appointment in September. They want Luna to get dental surgery in the spring… so that’s something I’ll have to look into in a few months… I have already started giving them some of their holiday presents early because I can’t resist!

Concluding fall

Seasons are crazy because it’s hard to believe I was in shorts and spaghetti straps at the start of autumn – now there’s snow everywhere. And it’s still technically autumn until Dec 21. But I wanted to get my recap done before it was too late! I like doing seasonal recaps.

Yesterday, I began my first cross stitch project. I’ve been wanting to do cross stitch for so long… like for years! I finally just started it! And it’s really not too hard, just takes patience. Now, I’m getting all my gifts sorted and ready. I’m going to do a 2025 reflection post before the end of the year.
