Lindsey Stirling is an extraordinarily talented violinist. She combines classical music with pop/hip-hop to create her own unique sound. Recently, she released “Warmer in the Winter,” a holiday album. It is filled with many classics as well as a few originals. The album is mainly instrumental but also features a handful of featuring singers.
Each song is equally awesome. But here is my personal ranking:
The good songs:
- Let it Snow – has a very classy feel to it. Makes me feel like I’m at a fancy cocktail party.
- What Child Is This – Slow, calming, and even haunting…
- Jingle Bell Rock – fun and relaxing, has a jazzy feel to it.
- Silent Night – incredibly peaceful, as it should be.
The great songs:
- Angels We Have Heard On High – Absolutely beautiful!
- I Saw Three Ships – an underrated Christmas song, in my opinion!
- Warmer In The Winter (featuring Trombone Shorty) – super cheesy and super cute.
- All I Want For Christmas – I think I like this song better as an instrumental!
- Time To Fall In Love (featuring Alex Gaskarth) – very catchy! The violin parts are the best.
My favorites:
- Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy – One of my favorite holiday songs in general. This version adds a unique yet complementary hip-hop beat to it.
- You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch (featuring Sabrina Carpenter) – a very strong track, I love how they twisted it from the original.
- Christmas C’mon (featuring Becky G) – My favorite original on the album. Super upbeat and easy to dance to.
- Carol of the Bells – such a pretty yet intense song that has been masterfully modernized.
