Discover what this means for the world during the age of Neptune in Aries, from 2025 to 2039.

Neptune transits are significant. Just like Pluto, Neptune is an outer planet that takes over a decade to change zodiac signs, bringing a new era to the world. Pluto transits are impactful because they may take up to 20–30 years. Meanwhile, Neptune transits happen about every 14 years or so, which is still quite a long time!
Neptune can certainly have personal impacts, but a majority of its affects are towards the collective whole. It can say more about society and how the world functions during a certain period.
When I was a kid, we did a solar system project where we could pick a planet — I chose Neptune. I’ve always been very drawn to this planet. Neptune rules Pisces, and while I don’t have a huge amount of Pisces in my chart, I do have a 12th house stellium. I think I can very much relate to the dreamy (and delusional) side of Neptune.
This is quite a planet. It’s only recognized in modern astrology, as it was not discovered until 1846. Therefore, it was never used in ancient or medieval times. Some astrologers today argue over the importance of Neptune, whether we should be paying attention to it or not. Personally, I believe it’s worth noting, mainly from a big-picture view.
Perhaps Neptune’s energy is something that we need in the modern world, but we didn’t need so much back then. Neptune is connected to dreams, spirituality, psychic ability, and the unseen. The discovery of Neptune happened during a time when science was taking over — and religion, superstition, and supernatural forces were diminishing in its influence over mankind. And Neptune came in to remind us that these things cannot be ignored.
Also, the world was not nearly as populated, hundreds to thousands of years ago. As more humans (souls) enter the world, we have more collective energies happening — which is symbolized by the outer planets of Neptune, Pluto, and Uranus. So, I believe that outer planets were not needed back then, but today, they can help guide us.
So, Pluto just made a major transit between the years 2023–2024, moving into Aquarius and remaining there until the year 2044. And so, the era of Pluto in Aquarius goes hand in hand with the era of Neptune in Aries.
Neptune Leaving Pisces (2011–2025)
Neptune entered Pisces between the years 2011–2012. Although it’s moving forward into Aries, it will take one last dip back to Pisces from October 2025 to January 2026. (This is due to retrogrades.)
Neptune is the modern ruler of Pisces, so this was quite a harmonious combination. Neptune is happy in Pisces; it feels right at home. This energy completely exalted the powers of Neptune. It truly put rose-colored glasses over the world, as we fell into dreamy nostalgia, and even some delusional thinking.
This era gave us a lot of hope, but unfortunately, this hope was not necessarily based in reality. Neptune in Pisces can make us very out of touch. But on the positive side, it makes the world more creative and spiritual.
Neptune has more of an affect on arts, media, and style — as opposed to science, technology, politics, and education. And so, when I think of Neptune’s influence in the world, I think that it strictly affects media and trends, over historical events.
Neptune in Pisces: Affects on social media
When I think of Neptune first entering Pisces, I think about the invention and rise of Instagram. This platform started off with an affinity for nostalgia: heavily filtered photos that counteracted the rising technical ability of photographs. Before Instagram, there was Facebook, a social media site centered more around text.
When people posted photos, they posted entire albums, with captions for each photo. Instagram changed social media in that people began to post one photo at a time, which made things looks more mysterious and elusive. For example, on Facebook, you post an album of your summer beach vacation. But on Instagram, you post a picture of a seashell, and you make yourself seem so artsy and mysterious.
Along with Facebook, there was also Twitter (now known as “X”). When you look it up, you’ll see that Twitter peaked in popularity during the years 2007–2010. And so, once Neptune approached Pisces, we saw the beginning of the downfall of Twitter. Again, this is a text-based social media site, as opposed to the photo-based Instagram. And so, it’s no coincidence that as Facebook and Twitter died down, Instagram blew up — because of Neptune in Pisces.
Back when Neptune was in Aquarius (air sign), we were more focused on text-based social media, as air signs connect to intellect, which would be more about reading and writing. But when Neptune moved into Pisces (water sign), we became more focused on aesthetics, vibes, and feelings, instead of thought. And so, we communicated better with one another through photos instead of text.
Neptune in Pisces: Music, Art, Aesthetics
Aesthetics and style was more focused on minimalism, coupled with elegance and tranquility. Pastels and neutrals became more popular. Pisces is a feminine sign, and we saw feminine energy embraced in style, music, film, and all forms of art. Women finally had their moment in music, sweeping Grammys and Emmys, taking over Top 40, after decades of being dominated by male artists. There was a burst in female collabs, girl groups, and feminine-empowered lyrics.
The biggest songs in pop music had a very dreamy quality. Country music made somewhat of a comeback, starting off with Taylor Swift entering the mainstream and closing out with Beyonce making a country album. Other genres thrived too, such as EDM, with mind-altering beats that can take you to another world. Really, across all genres, there was this feeling of escapism and romanticism.
Most importantly, spirituality entered the mainstream. The New Age movement became widespread. Tarot reading became popular. Lots of best-selling books on spirituality. And it’s said that the younger generation has become more religious and generations past.
Neptune in Pisces: Dissociation and sedation
Neptune is also related to drugs, specifically the drugs that are used to escape reality. And it’s been said that Pisces is connected to cannabis (aka marijuana.) So, it’s also worth noting how in the United States, cannabis spread in legality across the states from 2012–2025. Cannabis relieves pain, promotes relaxation, reduces stress, improves sleep, and can also cause hallucinations.
Another drug that Pisces can be associated with is opioids and painkillers. Pisces relates to dissociation from reality, running away from pain. In 2013, opioid abuse was declared an epidemic, and in 2017, was declared a national emergency. I strongly connect this to Neptune’s influences.
In some ways, Neptune in Pisces was a very beautiful time, and I’m almost a little sad to see it end. But like everything in life, we must move forward and embrace the new. Despite its positives, it also came with a lot of danger. This energy led the world into some delusional thinking, dwelling on the past, struggling to accept change, and remaining too passive. Sometimes, by running away from conflict, you end up destroying your peace.
Neptune in Aries (2025–2039)
What makes this transit extra significant is that Aries symbolizes the beginning of a brand new cycle, while Pisces is the end. Essentially, we have completed an entire cycle of Neptune, and now it’s time to completely start over. This is sure to bring a huge amount of change into the world. Aries is the sign of change and new beginnings.
Neptune in Aries is a bit uncomfortable; it doesn’t feel quite as cozy. Neptune is passive, peaceful, and graceful. Meanwhile, Aries is aggressive, bold, and brave. This can bring tension and conflict between wanting to keep the peace verses wanting to take action and bring war.
The benefit of this era is that it will encourage us to take action when it comes to our dreams. People will be more likely to stand up for what they believe in. It will remove the rose-colored glasses from our eyes, allowing us to see the world for what it truly is. It can be very beneficial when it comes to seeking change for the better. We could see more riots break out, but they will be done with intention to make something happen. This is the exact opposite of simply sitting back and letting others walk all over you.
Neptune in Aries: Style and Arts
We will see more passion and boldness when it comes to style, music, and art. Minimalism may become replaced with vibrant coloring, statement pieces, and maximalism. I can see music becoming more rage-fueled — possibly a rise in rock and heavy metal. Films and TV may show more violent. I can see the color “red” becoming more prevalent.
Now, Aries is not strictly about anger and rage. Aries also resembles innocence, blind faith, and childlike excitement. So, in the media, when it comes to books, music, film, TV, etc. we may also see themes of the underdog who wins, the hero’s journey, or stories focused around youth and coming-of-age.
Neptune in Aries: Masculine energy
As Aries is a masculine sign, we will see prevailing masculine energy — this applies to both men and women. This does not necessarily mean that the takeover of women in the entertainment industry will diminish — it could mean that women are embracing more of their masculine side.
My fear is that, with diminished feminine energy, the world may fall back into a more masculine, patriarchal state. And I do hope that this prediction is wrong, but it is certainly possible. Then again, this energy is all about change, so I don’t necessarily see us going “backwards.” The worst case scenario is that this will lead us into another world war, possibly another civil war in the United States. If so, this war will spark important changes that have been long overdue.
Neptune in Aries: Stimulants and energy-drugs
As mentioned earlier, Neptune is connected to drugs, and Neptune in Pisces brought the acceptance, recognition, and legality of cannabis in the US. It’s hard to predict what the future of cannabis will be at this point, if this will lead to any kind of setback. But for this incoming era, I see a focus on productivity-type drugs such as stimulants. This includes caffeine, Adderall, or some other drug that hasn’t yet hit the market.
A positive prediction is that we may see an end of the opioid crises, or at least a decline in abuse and overdoses. A negative chance is that addiction to opioids will be replaced with addiction to stimulants. And this will be more focused on improving physical stamina, body building, and muscles (as opposed to mental benefits like focus/memory.) Aries is focused on the body rather than the mind or soul. We could also see major resistance to painkillers in general.
Neptune in Aries: Impact on spirituality
As Neptune leaves Pisces, the most spiritual sign of all, it’s very possible that spirituality may decline in the mainstream. As mentioned before, Neptune in Pisces (2011–2025) brought a rise in spiritual practices, mainly esoteric and mystical practices (tarot, astrology, meditation, yoga, etc.) But when Neptune moves to Aries, we may see more focus on the body and physical world when it comes to spirituality.
Aries is the most independent sign, so we may see people taking spirituality into their own hands. People will be more likely to become their own gurus rather than followers. A lot of people will carve their own path in terms of religious thinking.
Final words for our future
To summarize it all together, basically, the world is moving away from a dream-state and now entering a phase of waking up, taking action, and also having a lot of hope. People associate Aries with war and aggression, but they often forget about the association with innocence, faith, and blind optimism. One thing for sure is that we are going to see a great amount of change happening in a small period of fourteen years.
