My momma inspires me because she has the warmest heart. She has taught me that revenge is never worth it. Growing up, whenever I got into arguments with my friends, instead of just siding with me she would teach me to see the situation from the other person’s perspective and have empathy. She does not have a single mean bone in her body! Whenever she gets mad it never comes from a place of hatred, but a place of passion and righteousness. She would always tell me that if I am ever feeling left out, instead of fighting for attention from a group of people, I should seek out someone who also looks lonely and needs a friend. Don’t chase after the popular crowd, because they don’t need any more followers. Go find the lonely ones, the underdogs, because they actually need and deserve human connection. If I was too nervous to go to a party because of social anxiety she would encourage me to get out of my comfort zone and go make new friends. Overall she raised me to be a very empathic person, and stressed the importance of making people feel included and loved.

My mom and dad were 37 & 40 when I was born, and I’m their third/last child. So they were pretty tired by the time I came along. My dad had to really convince my mom to have a third baby, and she is always saying she’s so grateful that she did. I can’t imagine how exhausting it is to raise kids but hopefully I will find out someday. I know I was a crazy child who threw countless tantrums and had to get a lock put on the outside door of my bedroom. So thank you for all of the work you had to put in to raise us three. Now you can just sit back and relax. And have a good laugh as you watch me struggle someday.
