Well, it all starts in the mind… so one small and effective change I can make towards happiness is policing my own thoughts. Every time a negative thought pops up – coming from fear and insecurity – instead of blindly following that thought, I should question it. It’s so easy to assume that people are against you or that people are trying to put you down. In reality, we are the ones who are putting ourselves down. The people around you are not trying to knock you down, and if they truly are, it’s a reflection of their own insecurity and it has nothing to do with you. We knock ourselves down so much. But that’s too easy. You aren’t a slave to your mind! Once a negative thought pops up, you have the choice to jump down the rabbit hole or dismiss the thought until a more positive one comes along. It’s such a small little habit that can make a huge difference.
