Poem: late bloomer

Poem: late bloomer

I think I’m a late bloomer

These things I should’ve done sooner

I think I’m living life in slow-mo

While everyone else is go, go, go

I think I’m late to the party

Cause I was just getting started

And now everyone’s ready to leave

Except for me, here’s where I’ll be

I’m not immature, I’m just full of youth

A little bit naive, and that’s the truth

I’m not impolite, I’m not fight or flight

I’m waiting til I’m ready, waiting til I’m steady

I will get there someday

I just haven’t gotten there yet

But I can promise still,

That I’m the wisest one you’ve met

In my heart is the soul of an old sage

Cause I’m not childish, not in any way

Wait my turn, a very slow burn

My virtue is patience, my power is sixth sense.
