Sun Day (Sunday) | witchy days of the week

Each day of the week has magical correspondences. They are associated with the god or goddess that it was named after. Click here to learn more.

Sunday = Sun Day

According to the modern day Gregorian calendar, which is developed from the Hebrew calendar, Sunday marks the first day of the week. Some parts of the world, such as Europe or China, consider Monday to be the first day.

And because of the standard work-week beginning on a Monday, perception shifts towards Monday as the start. But for those who start work on Monday, it can feel good to perceive Sunday as the beginning – that way you get the start the week on a more relaxed note.

Sunday is named after the sun god, Sol. In Roman mythology, Sol is masculine – and in Norse mythology, Sol is feminine. This day embodies feelings of play, happiness, positivity, and self-expression. It’s a day for connecting with your inner child and using your imagination.
