Something I have enjoyed doing on my blog over the years is posting photoshoots. On the surface, it may seem like I am just trying to look good. But it really is a lot deeper than that to me. I feel like photoshoots are another way of telling a story – without using any words.
Most of my photoshoots are done by myself. I did one photoshoot in 2019 with my friend Abby, who is a photographer, and got some of the best photos. I also did one in 2022 with a Shibari teacher and professional photographer. Those shoots certainly had the highest quality photos.
It is a different experience when you’re taking your own photos. There’s more freedom – and you are also forced to use your own creativity. So, it’s a much more imaginative process.
I basically have two settings: the woods or a blank wall. Nature makes the most beautiful scenery – nothing beats it. But a blank wall fits when you want to just strip it down with minimal distraction. I get more “happy” vibes from being in nature – and more withdrawn and introspective vibes in an empty background.
So, I decided to go through each photoshoot and pick my favorite photo!
