How I put this together

I went through all of my music posts – album reviews, curated playlists, song lyric meanings, song rankings, etc. – and put them on a playlist. And I started from the very beginning – so it’s all in order from 2016 through 2026.

Now, I actually could not put every single song on this playlist. For album reviews, I picked one song that best represents the album. For curated playlists, I picked one song that best represented the playlist. And for rankings, I picked the #1 song on the list.

Despite narrowing everything down, I still ended up with a playlist of approximately 99 songs!

I won’t write out every single track in this post – you can go ahead and click on the playlist to see every song. But I will go over a few of them!

The playlist starts with my first music review post from November 2016: Album Reviews: Yellowcard, Bastille, & Empire of the Sun. This is followed by “Castle on the Hill” by Ed Sheeran, which comes from my March 2017 full album review of Divide.

In late 2019, I wrote Best EDM of the 2010s – and the top songs mentioned in this post are also on this playlist. Following Heavy Metal Female Leads of the 2010s, there’s one song from each female singer mentioned in this post.

I was sure to include a track from Aaron Carter, in honor of his tragic early death, which I wrote about in Rest in Peace Aaron Carter. And of course there’s plenty of Lana Del Rey songs, as mentioned in Top 25 Darkest & Saddest Lana Del Rey songs and Decoding “Young and Beautiful” by Lana Del Rey, and so forth.
