My top 10 favorite posts from the past 10 years
I am ranking my top ten posts that I’ve written in the past ten years. This is super difficult! But it must be done!
My favorite type of posts are the ones that required a lot of work, effort, and time. I like posts that require lengthy research, in which I learn a lot, and I also educate others. I love learning things and passing on that knowledge. You can see a theme here of history, especially ancient history, with some whimsical sprinkled in.

This was such a fascinating post to write! I learned so much and I hope that I was able to teach others. The Cathars are a religious group from the Middle Ages who aligned with Christian beliefs – but in extremely nonconventional ways. They ended up being defeated and slaughtered by the Catholics, tragically. As someone who is really interested in religion, this was so intruiging to write about.

I’m usually not into old films – but I will watch anything involving Cleopatra. This movie from the year 1945 really captured my attention. I’m so fascinated to see how Hollywood depicts Cleopatra – especially during this time period. For once, they did not write her as a man-eater or seductress – they gave her a sense of innocence that she likely did have, while maintaining her cleverness. So, it was really enjoyable to write about this uncommon depiction of her.

This might be the first book review I ever posted! In this nonfiction piece, the true story of Cleopatra and Antony’s romance is fully explored. It’s an excellent book that I learned a lot from. And I was very passionate to share it – especially the specific details.

Isis has to be my favorite goddess – and I feel like there is not enough information about her online. The research I gathered was mainly from books. I loved learning more about Isis and spreading the knowledge.

With my mom’s side of the family being Pennsylvania Dutch, I find this culture and heritage to be super fascinating. There’s a lot of misinformation about this topic. I find it important to preserve and pass on this knowledge and tradition.

This is my favorite astrology post. Pluto is in a zodiac sign from about 10-20 years, so it covers an entire generation and era in history. It’s cool to look at the different generations and points in time and see how their Pluto zodiac defined them.

As someone really interested in music, I decided to do a deep-dive into the history of it. I was also thinking a lot about today’s pop music – what gets attentions, rewards, and recognition verses not. Because it all seems rigged to me. So, this is not just the history of music, but a search for when and why music became so corrupted – how it became a lost art – and also how that art of it ultimately prevails.

As an ancient history lover, I’ve noticed that much of history revolves around men, so I wanted to do a deep dive into ancient women – specifically Greece. (I would like to cover other ancient societies in the future.) Most historians say, “women had less rights” – and just leave it at that. I knew that it was more complex than that. Did women have power in other aspects? Did they consider themselves powerless? And why were their goddesses worshipped as equal to gods, if women were considered less than men?
