Full-time blogger

I have decided that, writing is really fulfilling for me and so I’m committing to being a full-time blogger. That means I want to spend 40 hours a week on blogging. That includes writing, planning, configuration, networking, and so on.

Of course I still need my day job to pay the bills. I’m content with my day job, I like the physical exercise, and many benefits regarding pay, insurance, etc. I will probably stay at the same job for a while unless a great opportunity pops up for me.

It is possible to make money through blogging but you really, really have to dedicate yourself. So I mean, that would be great, but I know it’s not easy. Either way, I might as well try, and I know it’s very good for my mental health which is rewarding enough. I really enjoy challenging myself and applying my determination.

I’m focused on this blog but I also have another blog I’ve created about astrology and all that esoteric stuff. I’m not yet ready to share it because it still needs a lot of work. So I’m going to focus on both blogs for now and see which one brings more success and fulfillment, hopefully eventually just focus mainly on one.

I’m excited about my new venture and seeing where it will bring me. I’m sure there’s going to be a lot of frustration and probably even thoughts of quitting, but I think this will be a great challenge. I’m sure I will get something out of this, somehow.

I’m utilizing my second bedroom as my “office” where I’ll be doing all my work. I’m using a large floor table as my “desk.” There’s a beautiful view of the trees from here. I’ll share a photo once everything is fully set up.

Feel free to share your thoughts and any tips you may have. Let me know if you think I would find more success through this current blog, which covers a wide variety of subjects, or my astrology blog which is more focused but may attract a smaller crowd!

  1. Good luck with your journey, Laura!! I Hope all works out for you!! It would be amazing eventually, and trust me. It’s going to be more than 40hrs a week in the beginning, but with dedication and commitment you can accomplish anything!!πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈ

  2. Wow, that is fantastic! Much as I love blogging I’m not sure I could handle two 40 hour jobs! But who knows? When you really love doing something it doesn’t seem like work anyway. 2 blogs? Why not put them together instead? You can have a special page for your new blog, accessed through your home page. Personally I think diversity in a blog is best and will attract the most people and will last longer as well. My blog used to have more diversity to it but then I had to cut back due to getting Covid so I stayed with the nature part and lost a lot of readers. I’m hoping to add more diversity again once I get it all sorted out. That’s why my suggestion to keep the two blogs as one, either as a separate page or just including it as part of your regular blog. However, just my thoughts, and I’m certainly not a pro blogger. Sorry for the long comment! Have a great week Laura! Give Venus and Luna a hug from Muffin and me!πŸ˜€πŸ˜ΊπŸŒž

    1. Thanks for your kind words and advice! 😺😸 40 hours certainly is A LOT, hahaha! I’m totally up for this challenge right now, although it definitely won’t be easy! I’m sure it may become discouraging but at the same time it’s emotionally satisfying for me to chase after a difficult goal, and I know many others wouldn’t agree, I can be very extreme in that way. Thank you for your input on diversity, because I wasn’t sure if “a lack of focus” would discourage viewers. But from your experience it sounds like the wider the variety, the better. I can see how that would attract more viewers because I’m casting a wider net that way. So I’ll consider that. I’m so sorry to hear about getting covid, I know you can get through this with your positive attitude. Great blog and keep up the good work. No need to apologize for a long comment, I really do appreciate it! Hugs back to you and Muffin! πŸ˜»πŸ€—βœŒοΈ
